The staff in Pili Pala Day Nursery engage positively and enthusiastically with the Flying Start Advisory Team. This has involved staff undertaking a self review process, which has resulted in further developing practice in order to provide quality provision.

Our Team

We believe that only with the support of well trained, knowledgeable practitioners, can children reach their full potential.

Pili Pala Day Nurseries is owned and directed by a husband and wife team, Kevin and Shireen Griffiths. Shireen has a Level 4 in Childcare and Education and also has a Masters degree in Early Years (children aged 0-8 years). Both are present everyday, to provide support and assistance.

Our nursery teams are supported by the setting’s managers, Michelle Pugh and Nicola Edwards. Both have a Level 4 in Childcare and Education (exceeding national requirements).

All of the Management Team have undertaken various additional training so they are equipped to inspire and fully support all staff to help them achieve their professional potential.

Our Nursery Educarers are trained the importance of balancing educating and caring for our children, hence their job title of “Educarers”. All of our Educarers have at least a Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Childcare and Education and also undertake various in-house and external training.

We encourage and support all our Educarers to develop professionally, by offering daily assistance, holding monthly staff meetings and offering in-house training programmes and external training courses.

We also employ Assistant Educarers, who are studying for a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education. They also attend in-house training, staff meetings and external training. They are closely supervised to ensure they are encompassing the nursery’s ethos of best practice.
