Nursery Life

The Butterfly Group is for children predominantly over the age of two years. They have their own Open Access play areas which offer sand and water, creative and mark-making, tactile and malleable play, role play and much more. Furthermore, our nurseries have sensory and discovery areas. The purpose of all the activities is to encourage children to be independent learners, in charge of their own day. The Butterflies are also offered various activities in line with 'Language and Play', to help develop their pre-writing and language skills and 'Numbers and Play' to develop their maths skills. Activities are planned daily, based on observations of the children. Activities also follow the key principles of the Foundation Phase and Continuous Provision.

Sleep and Rest

All children are given the oppurtuinity to sleep or lie down and relax after dinner. Children who do not wish to rest are able to free play.

Meal Times

The Butterflies also have their own dining room which encourages a homely atmosphere and is used to promote childrens learning.
