Settling In

Settling In

Every child is unique and has their own individual needs. This is why our Settling In policy is very flexible and adapted to suit the needs of each child.

First session

Usually lasts about an hour. During this session, you get to meet your child’s key worker. You may ask them as many questions as you like and complete paperwork.

You will also be given another viewing of the nursery and will be shown (with more detail than previous viewing) areas that particularly apply to your child, such as the cot room, dining room etc.

We will explain the types of activities your child will take part in and any up and coming events of the nursery. Once you are comfortable and have finished talking to the staff, you will be asked to complete enrolment forms, in the office, with Michelle / Nicola.

Second session

Usually a half day session. Parents are encouraged to leave their child with their key worker, to gently ease their child into the routines of the nursery. You are welcome to phone as many times as you like, so that staff can inform you of your child’s progress.

Third session

This session follows the same routine as the second session, but at the end, you will be given the opportunity book further settling in sessions, if you feel your child need them.

We understand that it is important for children and parents to feel comfortable within the nursery, which is why we never rush the Settling In process.
