Since Lily has started, she has come to enjoy the different activities that are available. Her vocabulary has improved greatly from communicating with other children and staff. She always comes home singing different nursery rhymes and songs that she has learnt, many of which are in Welsh.

Pili Pala Day Nurseries is an English medium nursery group that incorporates the Welsh language on a daily basis.

All staff are encouraged to attend Welsh language courses so they are better equipped to use Welsh within all day to day activities. Both nurseries are equipped with Welsh resources such as story books, props, song cards and much more.

Further ways in which Welsh is incorporated are:

• Discussing the weather
• On display boards,
• Discussing food,
• Speaking about parts of our bodies,
• Discussing colours, days of the week, months.
• In general conversations, “How are you?”, etc.

In addition, we employ Welsh speaking Educarers and Kevin Griffiths (Director) is a first language, fluent Welsh speaker who is always available to support and advise staff when needed.
